The why

To revisit this later on will be important.

The Mission

My mission in this outlet is to produce long-form evidence-based and well-researched articles about various topics within politics, history, war, technology, and if I dare, philosophy.

Away from algorithm based platforms where sensationalism is the key. This is not to say that titles and conclusions based on well-researched and well-argued articles cannot be sensationalized. Rather, the word "sensationalism" now has a more negative connotation and has coopted a new meaning "click bait".

Do you Even Bait?

I see no harm in sensationalized titles and summaries, if they lead back to a long-form article. This has been done for ages. A phrase like "you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs", a short phrase that delivers a quick message, yet, if you follow it, it will lead you to an ocean of literature building the foundation for this idea. Not to say this is a phrase I agree with, though it would be very difficult to pass judgment on such phrase without context.

I believe it is the writer's job to reduce the long-form into a sensational short idea to create a gateway for readers, while it is the readers' job to explore sensationalized headlines and statements by reading the long–form content behind them.

I presented the above to profess, articles written here will be summarized/reduced/sensationalized and distributed on various social media platforms – However, they will all lead back to the long argued and researched articles backing them here.

To AI or not to AI

If you read the em dash in the last paragraph and thought "oh no!', calm down. This article is not AI written or AI assisted. These are all my thoughts. This is not to say that I am anti-AI(or SI if you like). As matter of facts, this outlet will have AI assisted articles and AI assisted art. However, articles will be clearly labeled. The plan is to have an AI section and a non-AI section. My prediction is ultimately, the AI section will dominate. Here are my reasons:

  1. This is not creative writing. The most important aspect of what I am writing here is the quality of evidence and argument.
  2. To manually research written articles is not just slow but is of lower quality. AI assisted research has greatly surpassed manual research.
  3. In the near future, it will be painstakingly obvious how inefficient manual writing is.
  4. The only ethical question when it comes to AI assisted research and writing is the AI training data. Other than that, there is no question about the produced articles.

As long as I am is willing to stand behind my written articles and the research behind them, others have no right to judge the article based on anything besides its factual accuracy and quality of evidence.

Having said that, AI assisted articles will be labeled. With that comes a realization that more and more people are having, what is AI assisted? Any writing that uses AI in any way, shape or form is "AI assisted". This means the term AI assisted writing will become obsolete very soon(maybe it already is by the time you read this). No sane researcher/writer will abstain from using AI in their work, if they do, it would be as if a researcher refuses to use computers or the internet in their research.
